TES has extensive experience with water quality and aquatic habitat assessments in rivers, streams, and ponds. Assessment of water quality in streams is often measured by the presence of macroinvertebrates. Macroinvertebrates is a term primarily given to aquatic insects. TES staff use the Rapid Biological Assessments of Streams protocol which was developed by the NYSDEC. TES performs fisheries surveys using electroshocking and various types of nets in small streams, ponds, rivers, and lakes.
